Expanded Archery Season

Regular Archery and Crossbow Season

  • WMDs: All
  • Season Dates: September 30 - October 27, 2023

Youth Deer Hunting Day

  • WMDs: All
  • Season Dates: October 20 - October 21, 2023
  • Youth hunters must follow annual bag and possession limits.

Maine Resident Only Day

  • WMDs: All
  • Season Date: October 28, 2023

Firearms Season

  • WMDs: All
  • Season Dates: October 30 - November 25, 2023
  • Hunters are subject to the annual bag and possession limits.

Muzzleloader Statewide Season

  • WMDs: All
  • Season Dates: November 27 - December 2, 2023

Muzzleloader Select WMDs Season

  • WMDs: 12, 13, 15-18, 20-26, 29
  • Season Dates: December 4 - December 9, 2023

Special Rules and Exceptions

*From October 28, 2023, to December 9, 2023, only antlered deer with antlers at least 3 inches long may be taken, with an exception for hunters possessing Antlerless Deer Permits or expanded archery permits to take antlerless deer in designated WMDs. **Non-residents who own 25+ acres of land in Maine, leave it open for hunting, hold a valid hunting license, and are legally permitted to hunt can participate on the Resident Only Day. A verification form must be filled out, available on the Hunting License Information page.
