Oregon Wildlife Areas Regulations

Jewell Meadows Wildlife Area (Clatsop County)

  • Unit(s): 10, 12
  • All areas posted as "Refuge" are closed to public entry.
  • The Beneke Tract is open to hunting only during game mammal and game bird seasons.
  • Portions of the Beneke tract are closed during any open Saddle Mtn Unit elk season except for black-tailed deer hunting during the General Any Legal Weapon Western Oregon Season with a valid unused tag.
  • The Humbug Tract is open to hunting during game mammal and game bird seasons.
  • Shooting firearms and bows from or across open fields during any open Wilson Unit elk season is unlawful.
  • ODFW parking permit is required.

Sauvie Island Wildlife Area (Multnomah and Columbia Counties)

  • Unit(s): 11
  • Open to archery hunting for black-tailed deer from Aug. 27 to Sept. 25, with some exceptions.
  • Oak Island is closed to deer hunting, and Sturgeon Lake Refuge is closed to all hunting.
  • Rabbit hunting is allowed in the North Unit only from Sept. 1 to Jan. 31, 2023.
  • Free daily hunt permits are required and available at self-service check stations.
  • Closed to hunting for furbearers, predators, unprotected, and protected wildlife.
  • Use of rifles, handguns, and crossbows is prohibited.

Gods Valley Wildlife Area (Clatsop County)

  • Unit(s): 12
  • Vehicles restricted to travel on county roads.

E.E. Wilson Wildlife Area (Benton County)

  • Unit(s): 15
  • Open to big game hunting during authorized seasons, except closed to archery deer hunting during youth pheasant hunts.
  • Rabbit hunting is permitted from Nov. 1 through the end of Feb. Hunting by permit only.
  • Use of rifles, handguns, and crossbows is prohibited.
  • ODFW parking permit is required.

Fern Ridge Wildlife Area (Lane County)

  • Unit(s): 15, 20
  • Open to big game hunting during authorized seasons.
  • Free daily hunting permits required and available at self-service stations.
  • Hunters limited to muzzleloaders, shotguns, and archery equipment only.
  • Discharging rifles and handguns prohibited.

Tami Wagner Wildlife Area (Lincoln County)

  • Regulation: Open for wildlife-oriented public use unless otherwise excluded or restricted.
  • Discharge of Firearm: Discharge of any firearm is prohibited except as authorized during game bird and game mammal seasons.

  • Regulation: Access to the WA must be through the access point on North Bank Ln.

  • Access Schedule: Beaver Slough Tract and Winter Lake Tract have different access schedules.
  • Shot Type: Restrictions on shot type for hunting.
  • Safety Zone: Discharge of a firearm into or from a Safety Zone is prohibited.
  • Camping and Fires: Camping and open fires are prohibited.

Denman Wildlife Area (Jackson County)
